Crane lifting characteristics

Diesel-electric crane installation MKT-40 is a superstructure mounted on a semi-trailer. As a tractor, a MoAZ-546 model vehicle, originally designed to work as part of a scraper, is used. The MKT designation is also used for wheeled hydraulic cranes supplied to the market under the Ulyanovsk brand. Machines are united only by the name and purpose, the design has big differences.

MKT-40

The MKT crane consists of a rotary section mounted through a full-turn shoulder strap on a 1-axle platform. The front part of the chassis is equipped with a bracket that is mounted on the towing vehicle saddle. The rear axle of the chassis is equipped with a drive that includes an AC motor. Electricity comes from a generator, the rotor of which is driven by the power unit of the tractor. To transfer torque from the motor, a transfer gearbox is used. The drive is switched on by the tractor driver; mode is used only when driving short distances at a speed of 4.5 km/h.
