Miracles of Nicholas the saint in love. “At the relics of St. Nicholas, I saw real miracles. The salvation of the native people

Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker During his lifetime, he became famous for the numerous miracles that he performed through prayers to God. About the help of St. Nicholas to ordinary people, about his virtues in relation to those in need, about intercession, about healing, is described in But a lot of miracles have been performed and are being performed after the earthly death of Nicholas the Pleasant.

Today, everyone turns to Nicholas the Wonderworker - both simpletons and scientists, believers and non-believers, even many who are alien to Christianity, Muslims and Buddhists turn to him with reverence and fear. The reason for such a large-scale veneration is simple - an ambulance, not long in coming, help from God, sent through the prayers of this greatest saint. People who at least once turned to him with faith and hope are certainly aware of this.

Below are just some of the testimonials miraculous help St. Nicholas in money, in healing from illness, etc.

The story of the priest about the help of Nicholas the Wonderworker

This was in 1993. A difficult and impoverished time of perestroika that has not been rebuilt. My wife and I rented a dacha in Ilyinka for the fall-winter. It was much cheaper than even the most seedy housing in Moscow, I was not yet a priest and served as a sexton and reader in one of the newly opened monasteries. We lived more than modestly, and the pollock breadwinner was our exquisite festive meal. Our second child was born, there was a catastrophic lack of money, and we also did not want to return to secular work and leave the temple.
Once in confession I complained to the confessor about life and he said to me:
- Pray to St. Nicholas, read everything will be fine. I came home and told my wife about this, and we began to read the akathist.
On the third day, an old friend calls me and says:
— Dimitri, listen, how are you, do you still work in the church?
“In the church,” I say.
And of course you don't have any money.
- Of course not.
- Listen, this is the case, a friend, the chief accountant of a bank, was balancing the balance, and somehow 40 thousand hung from her, neither here nor there, no matter how superfluous they are, can you take it? She wanted to donate to one of the believers to pray.
“I’ll take it,” I say, “of course I’ll take it, I’ll take it with great joy.”
And took. And brought home. Forty thousand rubles was a lot of money in those days. My wife and I were shocked. Incredible, unimaginable!
We decided to give half of the money to help one Nikolsky monastery in the Kaluga region, and on the other half we lived comfortably, I don’t remember how much, but for a long time. However, money tends to run out, and we were discouraged again, but decided to take up the akathist again. And on the second day, my friend calls again:
— Dimitri, how are you, still in the church?
- In the church.
- Listen, again the same story, only this time 50 thousand, will you take it?
About our experiences with my wife, feelings, I probably can not write. You need to think about this for a long time, like over poetry. We again halved the money in the same directions and lived comfortably for a considerable period of time, and there I became a deacon, then a priest, and life took a completely different turn. But to this day, and, I hope, until death, my mother and I treat the great and holy name Nicholas the Wonderworker. With his prayers, I wish you all on the day of his holy memory and all the days - salvation and help from God, intercession and comfort in all sorrows, sorrows and hardships. I believe that the Great Hierarch will wipe with his omophorion every tear you shed, support with his right hand everyone who has lifted his foot over the perilous abyss, warm with the fire of his heart our sinful, weak, but faithful souls that have caught cold in the cold winds of this age.

Help of St. Nicholas in the healing of the disease

4 days before the Nativity of Christ in 1887, a peasant of the Kostroma province of the Buysky district, a retired private Filimon Otvagin, came to the Nikolo-Babaevsky Monastery, suffering from relaxation of the entire right side of the body, and he could not control his right hand and dragged his right leg - he walked with someone else's help. The certificate issued to him from the Vologda zemstvo hospital indicated that he was being treated there from "semi-paralysis of the right half of the body, which occurred from an embolism of the cerebral vessels, a disease that is completely incurable and prevents him from doing personal physical labor." On the night of December 25-26, Otvagin reports, in a dream he saw St. Nicholas the Wonderworker standing at his head, and to the right Holy Mother of God. The saint said to him:
- Work hard and pray with me, the Lord will grant you healing.
The Queen of Heaven told him the same thing.
When he woke up, he began to feel strength in his previously unpossessed limbs, and he brought his right hand to his head, which he could not do before, and made the sign of the cross with his left hand. Arriving on the 26th in the morning at the early liturgy, he was already able to freely overshadow himself with the sign of the cross with his right hand. Now he feels healed and wished to stay forever in the monastery.

Miraculous salvation of the baby by Nicholas the Wonderworker

Lived in Kyiv, a husband and wife, who had an only son - still a baby. These pious people had a special faith in St. Nicholas and the martyrs Boris and Gleb. Once they were returning after a feast from Vyshgorod, where the holy relics of the holy martyrs were kept. When they sailed along the Dnieper in a boat, the wife, holding the baby in her arms, dozed off and dropped the child into the water. It is impossible to imagine the grief of poor parents. In their lamentations, they especially addressed St. Nicholas with complaint and reproach. Soon, the unfortunate people changed their minds and, deciding that they had apparently angered God in some way, they turned to the Wonderworker with fervent prayer, asking for forgiveness and consolation in the grief that had befallen them.
The next morning, the sexton of St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv, having come to the temple, heard a child crying. Together with the watchman, he entered the choir. Here, in front of the image of St. Nicholas, they saw a lying baby, all wet, as if just taken from the water. The news of the found baby quickly reached the parents. They immediately ran to the church and here they really recognized their drowned child in the child. Joyful, they returned home, thanking God and His great Wonderworker. The image of the saint, in front of whom the drowned baby was found, is still called “Wet Nicholas”.

Help of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in money

I will remember this incident for the rest of my life. It was in the very first year of my service in the temple. My close friend Mikhail helped me then. In the summer, the village authorities finally evicted the veterinary hospital that had occupied it for a number of years from the house that had already been officially transferred to the church. The former owners left us real ruins, especially in that part of the house that they did not occupy. Repairs had to be done urgently, as autumn was approaching. We soon managed to find workers and negotiate with them. All that was left was to get the necessary amount of money. Very few people went to the temple, but we were lucky again, by the grace of God we soon collected this money. When they reported this to the foreman of the workers, they heard the following from him: “You will pay us one and a half times more, or we will go to another facility.”
Mikhail and I had no choice but to enter our church, among the warped, burned walls with protruding reinforcement, raise our hands to Heaven and turn to the true rector: “Father Saint Nicholas, you see everything. As you wish, so be it." We didn't expect anything. In less than five minutes, a man enters the door and, we ourselves were amazed, donates exactly as much money as we lacked.
"Rejoice in Nicholas, quick helper and glorious miracle worker." In autumn we already lived in the Church house.

DID NOT GIVE A BRIBE…

Three years ago, they wanted to expel my daughter from the College of Music for complete failure. However, the real reason for the expulsion was different: I did not want to bribe the teacher. At that time I was in the hospital, and my frustrated child came there so that I would give her a blessing to pass the exam before a special commission. The results of the exam were known in advance; he was called "funeral". I blessed my daughter and began to pray to Saint Nicholas for a miracle. And my prayer was heard: after a while, my daughter returned joyful, with a “four” for the exam. It turned out like this: the teacher, deprived and burning with a thirst for revenge, could not join the commission - just before the exam, her taps broke in both the kitchen and the bathroom. Other examiners listened to the girl's game impartially and gave her a good mark. Now my daughter has successfully graduated from the Music and Pedagogical College.

The second case occurred relatively recently - in the spring of 2003. Just before St. Nicholas Day, a large stone was found in my left kidney, and I ended up in the hospital. On the eve of the holiday, at the vigil in the hospital church, I asked St. Nicholas to perform a miracle - to free me from this dangerous stone without surgery. And the miracle did not slow down. On the morning of the holiday itself, first an ultrasound and then an X-ray showed that there was no stone in the kidney anymore, and I was discharged home.

TWO GIFTS

In the 1950s, my aunt Domna looked after the servant of God, John, a seriously ill, bedridden man. This is what he said about himself. In 1930 he was 8 years old. He did not go to school, he could not read, and when his mother and grandmother called him to church, he refused or said that he would go, but would not pray. Instead of school, he went to graze village cows. One day he was grazing cows, and suddenly, out of nowhere, an old man appears in front of him with a book in his hand. “Take,” he says, “a book: you will read it.” The boy refuses, says that he is illiterate, and the old man insists: “Take it! Your whole life is in this book, but you will learn to read.

The boy leafed through the book - there are no pictures in it; I wanted to return the old man, but he had already disappeared ... Three days later the boy fell ill, went to bed, and then he again picked up the book he had been presented with (it was the Gospel in Russian) - in a few days he mastered the letter and began to read. No one could help him in this: his parents were illiterate themselves, and teachers did not come to them, to believers. Then Vanya realized that the old man who gave him such an expensive gift was St. Nicholas. The boy's illness turned out to be very serious: John lay in bed for 25 years, until his death, but he never complained, and among his fellow villagers he was known as a blessed and perspicacious person: many came to him for advice, striving to find out the will of God about themselves. And the Gospel given by the Saint is still kept in our family.

Another incident occurred during the Great Patriotic War. My friend, R. B. Anna, it was very difficult to live in a family with a father-in-law and mother-in-law. She decided from such a life to throw herself under a train. She chose the time when a freight train was supposed to pass by, and ran to the rails at a run. And at that moment an old man, in appearance somewhat similar to her late grandfather, whom she loved very much, suddenly called out to her. He called out the way grandfather called: “Annushka, dear!” She stopped, and he went up to her, threw a sheepskin coat over her shoulders (it was winter, and she ran out of the house in one dress) and disappeared immediately; the train left in the meantime. Anna always kept this sheepskin coat. Time passed, and by the icon she recognized St. Nicholas in her savior.

MIRACLES AT BUS STOPS

My brother came to visit us for the weekend. When it was time for him to leave, he and his mother went to the bus station, and there was already the last bus. There are a lot of people around: everyone needs to go, but there are no places. My mother prayed to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker to help my brother leave. And suddenly a female conductor comes out of the bus and says: “I have one place. Now I will choose which of you will go.” She spreads her arms around the crowd and moves towards my brother, who was the furthest away: “Here you will go with me!” The surprised and happy brother got on the bus and left.

And with me there was such a case. I was late for work, but there were no buses for a long time. In desperation, I prayed to St. Nicholas, and suddenly I see a bus without passengers rushing past me at high speed. I braked sharply, the doors opened, the driver jumped out ... I went to him: “Please help - I'm late!” "Sit down, I'm on my way!" And in five minutes without stopping he rushed me to work. I even had time to reach the temple and thank the Lord and Saint Nicholas for the unexpected help.

FOREIGN LAND

Through the holy prayers of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, St. Seraphim of Sarov, by the grace of the Mother of God, my newborn son, myself and my two older children were saved from death. I'll tell you everything in order.

I fell in love with an Azerbaijani. My spiritual father did not bless me to marry this man. I didn't listen to my father. Lived with my beloved in fornication. Now it is called civil marriage, but fornication is fornication. I rarely went to church... I loved the Azerbaijani very much, I treated him like a husband, and on his part it was all a game. Years passed. God gave me children: Elizabeth, Michael and Nicholas. When I gave birth to a daughter, it was only by a miracle that the child and I survived. My church friends and father prayed for me. Before the birth of my third child, the father of my children, an Azerbaijani, was put on trial. I tried to save him from prison, prayed to the Lord for him like I had never prayed before, and asked God for the sake of three small children to keep their father free. He was released pending trial; and we went to Azerbaijan, to his homeland. I went without the blessing of the priest, in the seventh month, leaving my seriously ill father and mother in St. Petersburg.

Poverty, cold, hunger and disease awaited us in Azerbaijan. The house was completely unsuitable for winter, and there in the mountains the winter is no worse than in St. Petersburg. The children were constantly sick, the treatment was paid, there was no money, my husband’s relatives were a big family, but unfriendly… In these conditions, I gave birth to my youngest son, Nikolai. In the maternity hospital, I found out that for a month I had been sick with pneumonia. Medicines in hospitals in Azerbaijan are given only for money, but neither my husband's relatives, nor he himself helped me a single penny. It got to the point that I wanted to give my pectoral cross for two aspirin tablets, but God saved me: he sent me a good doctor, a woman named Moral, who took pity on me and began to treat me for free. My milk was gone from hunger; they began to feed the newborn with cow's milk, but it is impossible for them to really feed the child. The baby began to slowly die of hunger. I decided to go home a long time ago, but they did not let me go.

And I prayed. I prayed to the Lord, prayed to St. Nicholas, after whom I named my little one, prayed to Seraphim of Sarov - and repented of my sins. The older children never left me: they were very afraid to be alone in this house: it seemed as if something evil lurked here, behind its walls ... How I asked Father Nicholas the Wonderworker to save baby Nicholas and my other children! .. And finally, my The Sahib gave me permission to send a letter to my mother. Mother came and took me with the children to St. Petersburg.

In my hometown, both I and the children quickly recovered. Little Nicholas lost half his weight during a month of hunger, but thanks to the intercession of St. Nicholas and skillful doctors, he quickly recovered. Only here, in my homeland, did I finally baptize my children. The mercy of God turned out to be boundless to me, a sinner.

MIRACLE IN THE MINE

Miner N. was a man of little faith, but his believing wife always accompanied her husband to work with a prayer. Once, when N. was descending into the mine, the cage broke off ... N. was threatened with imminent death. As he flew down, his whole life passed before his eyes. And suddenly, from the side, he saw a gray-haired old man flying next to him: no higher and no lower. N. was surprised: “Where is the old man from?” When N. was already falling, the old man sharply pushed him to the side: otherwise N. would have fallen flat on the protruding trunk, and then death would have been inevitable, and so N. received multiple fractures, but remained alive. N. lay in bed for a year: almost all the time at home, in the hospital they provided only first aid, they considered him hopeless. Coming to his senses and beginning to recover, N. recognized his savior in St. Nicholas. Some time later, his son was born. They called him Nicholas.

STOLE DOCUMENTS

I, the servant of God Zinaida, once went to the doctor. I waited a long time for the bus at the bus stop, and when it came up, a lot of people had already accumulated. I began to squeeze through to the door, and when I had already stood on the step, I felt that someone pulled my purse with documents strongly. I somehow pressed her to me and felt to the touch that something was missing in her. On the bus, sitting in an empty seat, I saw the handbag: it was cut with a razor, and everything that was there disappeared, and there were only documents. And so, on the eve of the feast of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, on the evening of May 21, I prayed to the Saint - both at home and in church - that my documents be returned. The next day I'm leaving for the country; I return, and my husband tells me that everything that was missing has been found: both my documents, and his, and the key to my daughter's apartment. There was only a small pocket prayer book. I thanked Saint Nicholas and placed a candle in front of his image in the church. He often helped me after that incident. Once my daughter had an operation, and I prayed to the Saint, and everything went well.

TWO RIDERS

I want to tell you about two similar cases when I prayed to St. Nicholas, and he helped me.

Once (I was 17 at the time) I was waiting for a bus at a bus stop. There were many people. A car with tinted windows drove up and stood for a long time without turning off the engine. None of it came out. I thought, "It's like they're looking out for someone." A tall Caucasian man in a long black coat gets out of the car, comes up to me and politely offers me a lift. I refused, but he repeated his offer again, gently taking my arm. I, as if hypnotized, followed him. The back door of the car opened and it turned out that three more people were sitting there. I got really scared and stopped. Then, unnoticed by others, some grandfather took me under the other hand and said very quietly: “Daughter, are you tired of living?” Then I overcame my fear and told the Caucasian that I would not go anywhere, and he left me alone. I am sure that if it was not St. Nicholas himself who stopped me, then he sent me this grandfather to save me from trouble.

Another time, I again stood at the bus stop, but it was in the village, and buses ran very rarely there. It was winter. Everyone tried to catch a ride, but I couldn’t do it. And then a miracle happened: a white Zhiguli stopped nearby. Everyone ran to the car, but the driver said he would only take me. He himself put my things in the trunk and off we went. On the way, he told me how once he was walking along the taiga road 11 km on foot, and no one wanted to give him a lift; since then, he told himself that from now on he would not give a ride to anyone. For a long time he adhered to this rule, and suddenly today he saw me and felt sorry for me. To my shame, I got a little worried, and he, noticing this, put a woman with a child in the car, and did not charge anyone. I regret not asking his name.

PARCEL TO SPAIN

My five year old grandson lives with his parents in Spain. I miss him so much and he misses me too. Once I collected a parcel for him: a book, vitamins, chocolate and some other trifle, packed it in a large envelope and sent it by mail. I sent it, but I myself worry: what if they return from the road? A week passed, another ... The daughter calls that she did not receive anything, and we decided that the letter was gone. The third week has passed, the fourth… Two days later, the feast of St. Nicholas. I couldn't take it. She fell on her knees in front of the icon of the Wonderworker and began to ask with tears: “Father Nikolai! Will my Ilyusha not receive a gift from his grandmother for your holiday? You help all people, do a little miracle for us too!” And here's the surprise! On the day of St. Nicholas, the son-in-law calls and says: “Today Ilyusha received your present.”

AT THE STATION

I was returning from the Velikoretsky procession: from the city of Vyatka, back to St. Petersburg. As soon as I arrived at the station, the first thing I heard on the speakerphone was: “Tickets to St. Petersburg sold out three days in advance.” Nevertheless, I took a queue and, standing in it, prayed: “Father, Saint Nicholas, help! I can’t stand three days at the station: after the procession, I can barely stand on my feet!” And then a ticket office opens next to me, where tickets are sold for an additional fee by reservation. I rush there, submit my blockade documents and get a free ticket in a sleeping car for a train that leaves in two and a half hours.

When I got into the carriage, the conductor at first did not even want to let me in: it already hurt my pilgrimage appearance did not fit the sleeping car. But, by the grace of God and through the intercession of St. Nicholas, I got home safely.

MIRACULOUS SALVATION ICON

One woman told such an incident that happened in their family when she was six years old. Her mother was very religious, and her father, on the contrary, was a communist and was hostile to the church. Mom had to keep secret from her father somewhere in a closet among things the icon of St. Nicholas, the blessing of her mother. One day she came home from work and started lighting the stove. She already had firewood in her, all she had to do was kindle it, but she couldn’t do it, she fought, fought, but the firewood did not burn at all. Finally, she began to pull them out and found the icon of St. Nicholas, which her husband found in the closet and decided to destroy with his wife's hands.

IN A FOREIGN CITY

A. lived in one of the republics of the CIS. Once she went on a long business trip to Moscow. There was little money, and there was a lot of work to be done. When the funds began to decrease, A. did not succumb to despair, but went to the church of St. Nicholas, which was on the way to work. There she saw an announcement that the temple urgently needed a cleaner. It turns out that shortly before her arrival, one of the permanent cleaners was injured. She fell down the stairs, hit the huge icon of St. Nicholas, and only later found out that this saved her from a spinal injury. A. was hired until the end of the business trip, and this work did not interfere with the main one. By the time she left, the cleaning lady, who was injured, had recovered and went to work ...

FIRE ON CONSTRUCTION

V. went to work with his comrades. They built cottages outside the city. They lived near the construction site in wagons, which were heated in winter with electrical heating appliances, often home-made. Once, the men left the electric stove turned on for the night, and washed laundry was hung around it. At night, when everyone was sleeping, a fire broke out. Half-asleep workers jumped out of the trailer in horror. V. did not wake up immediately, but when he woke up, it was too late and there was nowhere to run away. He sat in the middle of the trailer, and flames raged on all sides. Suddenly, among the fire and smoke, he saw St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The saint called him, and then abruptly pushed him out of the window. V. received burns, but survived. The hands were especially affected, but they did not lose their working capacity. Soon V. recovered and changed his profession. Now he is a priest.

"Lampada", Novoaltaysk

On the evening of May 21, for the first time, a particle of the relics of one of the most revered saints, St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, was delivered from Italy to Russia. In Christianity, he is the patron of travelers, prisoners and orphans, in the West - the patron of almost all sectors of society, but mostly children. In Rus', many temples and monasteries are named after him, and his icons stand in houses ...

The relics of Nicholas the Wonderworker brought to Russia were kept for 930 years in the Italian city of Bari in the Basilica of St. Nicholas, a Romanesque church of the 12th century. As Patriarch Kirill noted, this is a unique event, since during the entire stay of the relics of St. Nicholas in Bari, they never left the city.

The transfer of part of the relics became possible after the meeting of Cyril with Pope Francis on February 12, 2016.

Saint Nicholas is considered the patron saint of sailors, merchants and children. However, absolutely everyone turns to him with everyday problems: it is believed that Nikolai Ugodnik is the quickest helper, a source of spiritual support, an intercessor and savior from injustice and needless death. Nicholas performed miracles both during his lifetime and after his death. Here are some of them.

The theft that saved the shrine

Surprisingly, the most "popular" saint in Russia was born in the 3rd century AD in Asia Minor - on the territory of modern Turkey. On the town square in the Turkish city of Demre, a huge Santa Claus rises - this is St. Nicholas.

Also in the city is the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. In the southern part of the temple there is a sarcophagus in which the saint was originally buried. In 1087, the Italians stole about 80 percent of the relics of St. Nicholas from the Byzantine church and reburied them in the city of Bari.

After that, the temple was attacked, and later was flooded with the dirty waters of the Miros River. But the relics of the saint were already safe - in such a miraculous way they survived. According to church sources, this did not happen by chance: Nikolai Ugodnik appeared to one of the Italian priests in a dream, ordering him to transport his relics to Bari.

fragrant branch

The rest of the relics, nine years after the Bari raid, were removed from the sarcophagus in Demre by the Venetians. They dismantled the tomb, where they found only water and church oil, and then searched the entire church, while torturing the guards.

One of them could not stand it and showed the relics, but two other saints - the predecessors of St. Nicholas: the martyr Theodore and uncle St. Nicholas, who was also a priest.

When the Venetians were already sailing from the shore, they suddenly felt a fragrance emanating from the side of the church. Returning there and breaking the floor of the altar, they began to dig and found another floor under a layer of earth.

Having destroyed it, they found a thick layer of vitreous substance, and in the middle - a mass of petrified asphalt. When it was opened, inside they saw another sintered mixture of metal and asphalt, and in it were the holy relics of the miracle worker Nicholas. A wonderful fragrance spread throughout the church.

The bishop wrapped the relics of the saint in his mantle. Here the first miracle happened at the relics of St. Nicholas - the palm branch brought by the Hierarch from Jerusalem and placed with him in the coffin gave rise to shoots. The Venetians took the branch with them as proof of God's power.

Miracles on the water

The saint performed many miracles while traveling by ship to Palestine, where he went to venerate the holy places. On the ship, Nikolai showed the gift of foresight: once God's saint announced to the sailors about the storm.

The bad weather did not keep us waiting long: the wind rose, which threw the ship from side to side, the sky was covered with lead clouds. Panic began on the ship, but Nikolai calmed the sailors and turned to God. His prayers were heard: the rampant elements, not having time to cause trouble, began to subside.

Soon, St. Nicholas performed another miracle here - he resurrected a man. One of the sailors slipped and fell on deck. Seeing a lifeless comrade, the sailors turned to the miracle worker for help. After the prayer of Nicholas, the young man came to life.

On the way, the ship often stopped off the coast. The saint physically and spiritually healed the local residents: he healed some from illnesses, cast out evil spirits from others, and gave consolation to others in sorrows and sorrows.

The salvation of the native people

There is a legend that while visiting the holy places of Palestine, Saint Nicholas decided one night to pray in the temple. Approaching the doors, he saw that they were locked. And then, under the influence of miraculous power, the doors themselves opened before God's chosen one. But he was not destined to stay to serve the Lord in Palestine - Nikolai was more needed by people in his native Lycia.

At this time, food supplies were scarce in the Lycian country: the population experienced severe hunger. The disaster was getting bigger and bigger. But St. Nicholas did not allow a terrible misfortune.

One merchant, having loaded his ship with bread in Italy, before sailing, saw in a dream the Wonderworker Nicholas, who ordered him to take bread for sale to Lycia and gave a deposit - three gold coins.

Waking up, the merchant really found money in his hand. He considered it his duty to fulfill the will of the saint, and went to Lycia, where he sold his bread and told about the prophetic dream.

Appearance of Nikola in the sky over Mozhaisk

Evidence of the mercy of Nicholas the Wonderworker to our country and to our ancestors is the miraculous image of St. Nicholas of Mozhaisk. It received its name from the city of Mozhaisk in the Moscow region, where it was located in the cathedral church named after the Saint. The origin of the Mozhaisk image dates back to about the 14th century.

During the siege of Mozhaisk by the Mongols, an amazing sign appeared in the sky. Saint Nicholas seemed to be standing in the air above the cathedral: in one hand he held a sword, and in the other - an image of a temple surrounded by a fortress, which made the Mozhaisk people happy and frightened the enemies. The enemy was frightened by the vision, lifted the siege and fled. After that, a revered image of the Pleasant was created in gratitude for his wonderful help.

Perhaps, in memory of this incredible appearance of the Miracle Worker for the salvation of the city, the image is now called revealed, and new miraculous signs have confirmed the glory of the miraculous for him.

Zoe standing

In 1956, events took place in Kuibyshev (today's Samara) that shook the Orthodox world - the famous "Standing of Zoya".

During the celebration of the New Year, the girl Zoya, a pipe factory worker, could not wait for the groom: he was delayed somewhere. Music played, young people danced and had fun, only Zoya did not have a partner. The frustrated girl removed the icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker from the wall and began to dance with it, saying: "If there is a God, let Him punish me!" And suddenly Zoya froze in place with the icon of the saint pressed to her chest and turned to stone - she could not be moved. At the same time, the girl's heart continued to beat.

The news of the miracle quickly spread throughout the city, crowds of people went to watch Zoya's Standing. But after some time, the authorities blocked the passages to the house, placing a squad of policemen on duty around.

Before the feast of the Annunciation, a certain handsome old man asked the guards to let him through, but he, like everyone else, was refused. He tried to get into the house several times, and in the end, on the very day of the Annunciation, he succeeded. The old man turned to Zoya: "Well, are you tired of standing?" When the guards looked into the room, the old man was not found there. Witnesses of this miracle are convinced that it was St. Nicholas himself.

Zoya stood motionless for four months - 128 days. On the Easter holiday, she began to revive, the petrification of tissues began to subside, but the girl constantly asked everyone to pray for the world, perishing in sins and iniquities, and she prayed herself - thanks to the prayers of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the Lord had mercy on her.

Intercession of the saint

Our family keeps an ancient icon of St. Nicholas, the Pleasant of God, who was especially revered by my great-grandmother Darya Pavlovna. Why? - a family legend tells about it.

Once my great-grandmother, then still a young woman, went to an early service in the Iversky Vyksa Convent. She lived 15 kilometers from the monastery in the village. Veletma, and the road went through the forest. Somewhere halfway, a dirty, shaggy man unexpectedly jumped out of the forest and blocked Darya's path. What was a lonely defenseless woman to do? She began to pray fervently: “Father Nicholas, help me!” And then a small gray-haired old man with a stick in his hand came out of the forest. He waved his stick in the direction of the villain, and said to his great-grandmother: “Do not be afraid of anything, a servant of God.” The peasant looked at the old man, recoiled, then said, turning to Daria: “Well, woman, pray to God and your patron saint, otherwise ...”, and he disappeared into the forest. And the old man also disappeared, just as he was not there ... In such a miraculous way, the mercy of the Pleasant of God Nicholas appeared visibly. Talking about the miracle that happened to her, great-grandmother always cried and prayed fervently before the icon of the Saint.

"As God Provides"

My husband and I were picking mushrooms, but the rain drove us out of the forest. In the car, we discovered the loss of documents: rights, technical certificate, which we dropped in the forest. We searched for them for a long time, asked God, but did not find them. A week later, I advised my husband to pray on his knees before the image of St. Nicholas, to ask him for help. The husband agreed, only asked: “What should I do after the prayer, go to the forest again?” I replied: "As God wills." A minute later they called us and said that they found our documents safe and sound, despite the fact that it had been pouring rain for a week. Returned free of charge.

Freedom Pass

From our area during the Patriotic War, one young man named Nikolai ended up in a concentration camp. And there was such a procedure: all the weakened were collected in one group and sent to the "bath". Everyone knew what was meant by this word - death! As exhausted, our Nikolai also fell into such a group. Shel-brel was the last: no strength ...

But suddenly he had a burning desire to live. He prayed to Saint Nicholas as best he could: “To Saint Father Nicholas! I'm sorry! I revered you badly, I prayed little. But now I am in great trouble. At home I have a wife and two small children. How I want to go home! I don't want to die so young! Help me!"

Suddenly there was a thought: “Fall!” It was autumn, the leaves lay like a carpet on the ground. Fell. The guard could finish him off, shoot him. But did not touch. Nikolai lay down until the steps subsided. I got up and wandered to the light: the evening was late. I got to the village, went into the first yard I came across and collapsed in a barn for hay.

In the morning the mistress came to feed the cattle. When she saw him, she was frightened and called her husband. He asks: “Who are you and where are you from, how did you get here? Tell the truth! If you lie, I'll shoot you!" Nicholas told the whole truth: how he prayed to St. Nicholas, how he asked him.

The owner ordered his wife to heat the bathhouse, evaporate him, change his clothes, give him sweet tea and put him to sleep on the stove. Two or three hours later they woke him up and gave him a glass of tea. Then, after about the same time, they woke up again - they gave tea with milk. Then after some time - a glass of milk. Then they added a piece of bread. So, gradually, for three days they nursed him after the famine.

Somehow the owner comes up to him and says: “You can’t even imagine how lucky you are. I am the head of the prisoners of all Germany. And I will give you such a pass, according to which neither ours nor yours will detain you.

Having provided everything necessary, they let him go. On the German border, the patrol, examining the document, said: “Oh, Gut! Gut! Wonderful!" Ours, checking, everyone was surprised and said: “Well, the document! Well, the document! This is the pass Saint Nicholas made!

Lens

I am leaving the church after the evening service. I hurry home, because I'm from work and straight to church. Ahead of me are two old women walking quietly. They go holding on to each other. Slippery. I tried to overtake them, and at that time one grandmother said to another: “Well, this is just a miracle.” I slowed down and listened. Grandma tells. “I got out of the house, got dressed already. Enough, but there are no keys on the nightstand. Well, I think they fell. No, not on the floor. Searched, searched. I can not find. Already undressed. I looked in my pockets and in my bag. Nowhere. At least go away, but leave the door hollow. I went up to the icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, let's ask him to help me find the keys. Made a bow. I get up. I raised my eyes, and on a carnation, by the window, my keys hang. After all, I never hung it there, I always left it on the bedside table in the corridor. I overtook the old women and again almost ran. At home, after all, the mother is sick, and the son must come home from work. I came home and immediately went to the kitchen to cook dinner. The son came. While he was undressing, she told him what she heard on the way from the temple. The son went into the room, and I went back to the kitchen. Ten minutes later I hear a cry: “Mom!” I run into the room. My son is confused. His eyesight is poor, but he does not wear glasses, but lenses. And then one lens somehow fell out. The lens is, after all, such a small, completely transparent petal. We have a carpet on the floor, and a fluffy blanket on the sofa. Can you find it here. And with my eyes there is nothing to try to look for. And he can't find it. Suddenly my son fell on his knees in front of the icon of Nicholas the Wonderworker and began to ask him. And I did not interfere, I went back to the kitchen. I don't think this lens can be found. You have to buy new ones. Yes, and work tomorrow. What will he do? Suddenly my son comes to my kitchen and shows me his finger: “Look, mom. He prayed, began to get up, leaned his hand on the sofa, and she stuck to her finger.

Warm the orphans

At Christmas, I visited my native Mogilev, visited my beloved St. Nicholas Convent. I learned that this winter the monastery, whose inhabitants are elderly women, owed a huge amount of money for heating. The fact is that the monastery is classified as an industrial enterprise and the payment is prohibitively high. The authorities promised to resolve this misunderstanding, but never did. At that time, one servant of God unexpectedly received an inheritance. Thinking about how best to manage the money, she had a dream in which an "old man with a stick" appeared to her and said: "Warm my orphans." It should be noted that this servant of God was not yet sufficiently churched. But for an explanation of the dream, the woman turned to the priest, who recognized St. Nicholas in the "old man". On the advice of the priest, this servant of God visited the St. Nicholas Monastery and donated her mite, wishing to "warm the orphans." She was very surprised to recognize that “old man with a stick” on one of the monastery icons. It was Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.

“Mom, I didn’t drown!”

It was a long time ago. I was then ten years old, and now I am seventy-four. We arrived at the Lakes. I went swimming, but I couldn't swim. She walked a few steps and fell into a hole. Immediately went deep under the water, overhead - darkness. I swallow water, I feel like I'm dying. Thank God, I prayed to Nicholas the Wonderworker to save me.

We had his wooden icon at home. There were other icons, but for some reason I remembered exactly Nicholas the Wonderworker. And now I hear, as through a dream: "Try with all your might to jump." I jumped - a woman is above me. She grabbed my finger and pulled me out. And I went to the crying mother. This icon of Nicholas the Wonderworker is always with us, he survived the blockade.

The stories are taken from the public domain on the Internet.

The husband went fishing, the son - to friends ... I decided to wash my hair and go to church. I think: while I wash my head, I will put the potatoes - they will just be cooked for my departure. She put potatoes on the stove, washed herself and went to the temple. And only towards the end of the service she remembered the pot on the stove. I ran out to the embankment and started hailing a taxi to get home faster. Nobody stopped. Then I prayed to St. Nicholas, and immediately a GAZelle stopped in front of me. I told the driver about my misfortune, asked him to drive faster, asked him his name. "Nikolai!" - he replied. Well, it means that the Saint heard me! We rushed home, and then I saw that the potatoes were boiling quietly on the stove, and even after a few hours! - the water in the pan did not decrease at all. This struck me the most.

V. went to work with his comrades. V. did not wake up immediately, but when he woke up, it was too late to run away, and there was nowhere to go.

For many years I suffered from insomnia, and for the last two or three years, I have only fallen asleep with pills. And then I found out that the image of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. It will also be in Tolyatti, where I live. I have been waiting for this day with impatience and hope. When the image was brought to the temple in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, a procession was made. There were a lot of people: it seemed that the whole city had gathered. The soul was light and joyful, and the heart harbored hope for healing. And thanks to God's mercy, it came. Now I sleep soundly. And every morning I thank our Savior, His Most Pure Mother and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

Kaliningrad is a port city. Many people live there, whose fate is connected with the sea. Therefore, a special craft is visible in the fact that the first city church was consecrated in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the patron saint of sailors. The church has a chapel in honor of All the Saints who shone in the Russian land, above the entrance to which from the side of the street hangs the icon of St. Nicholas. Late one evening several guys were walking past the temple. They decided to remove the image of the saint, which is not very high above the ground. Having done this, one of them gouged out the eyes of the saint on the icon… A few days later, Fr. Marian, one of the priests of the temple, a woman ran up and began to ask for forgiveness for her son. It turned out that this is the mother of a guy who went blind after the incident. What happened next is unknown.

I have an image of St. Nicholas, simple in execution, but not easy in its grace-filled power. I cut it out of the calendar, and it seemed to me, - Lord, forgive me - not very successful: it was painfully dark face. But just looked into the eyes of St. Nikolai Ugodnik felt uneasy: his stern look looks straight into your soul, and you can’t get away from this look. It's like in childhood: you stand in front of your parents and feel that they know about your wrongdoing, but they are waiting for you to admit it yourself, and it is impossible to shirk in any way. So I hung this paper image in the holy corner. And soon I found out that my mother's friend lost her son. Fourth day away from home: left work and never returned. Rushed to the holy corner. To whom to pray? How to pray? And suddenly in my head - a very clear thought: to pray for the prisoner. Usually in difficult times I turn to St. Blessed Xenia, but there was a particularly warm prayer when she prayed to St. Nicholas. With tears, in simple words she prayed and asked for a speedy helper in sorrow to return the captive. I did not expect that everything would happen so quickly: in half an hour my mother called and said that our friend had been released. All beaten up, he returned home. And then he said that suddenly the robbers stopped demanding money from him and brought him to the house.

It was in the market. A strong wind was blowing, and a 4-meter iron sheet was torn off the roof of one of the pavilions. The sellers, white with horror, followed the iron colossus flying directly at me, and I walked and prayed to Nikolai Ugodnik about something of my own, I was so carried away by the “conversation” with the saint that I did not immediately realize what was happening. And suddenly this huge sheet rolls up into a tube, slightly catching my shoulder, and stands up like a pole, as if rooted to the spot. The seller Nikolai, who witnessed the miracle (who was born on December 19 and was named strictly according to the holy calendar!), quietly congratulated me: “Happy birthday! You almost died, we saw it ... So happy new birthday to you ... ". And it would be ungrateful not to talk about it.
