Jesus Christ (Savior)

Learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you will find rest for your souls (Matthew 11:29).

God! open my mouth, and my mouth will proclaim your praise: for you do not desire sacrifice, I would give it; you do not delight in a burnt offering.Sacrifice to God is a contrite spirit; You will not despise a contrite and humble heart, O God.

Adulterers and adulterers! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity against God? So whoever wants to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy to God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain: “The spirit that lives in us jealously loves”? But the greater grace gives; therefore it is said: "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:4-6).

PRAYER OF HUMILITY

Question. What are the benefits of humility?

Answer. Just as self-conceit is the dissipation of the soul in its dreaming, which leads it to soar and does not prevent it from soaring in the clouds of its thoughts, so that it circles all over the creature, so humility gathers the soul into silence, and it concentrates in itself. Just as the soul is unknowable and invisible to bodily eyes, so the humble man is not known among people. And just as the soul inside the body is hidden from sight and from communication with all people, so a truly humble-wise person, due to his separation from everyone and deprivation (arbitrary) in everything, not only does not want to be seen and known by people, but even this is his will. - if it is possible, from oneself to plunge into oneself, enter into silence and dwell in it, completely leaving all one's former thoughts and feelings, to become something, as if non-existent in the creature, not yet come into being, completely unknown even to the soul itself his. And while such a person is hidden, enclosed in himself and excommunicated from the world, he completely abides in his Lord.

The humble-minded never stops (does not find pleasure) to look at meetings, crowds, excitement, noise, revelry, troubles and pleasure, the result of which is intemperance; does not get involved in speeches, conversations, cliques and scattering of feelings, but prefers everything to be separated from everyone in silence, secluded and separated from all creation, taking care of himself in a silent country. In everything, diminution, non-acquisitiveness, need, poverty are desirable for him. It is desirable for him not only to have a lot in himself and to be in continuous affairs, but to remain free at all times, not to have worries, not to be indignant at the local, so that his thoughts do not proceed outside him. For he is sure that if he goes into many things, he will not be able to stay without confusion of thoughts, because in many cases there are many worries and a gathering of many-complex thoughts. And a person ceases already in the world of his thoughts to be above all earthly cares, with the exception of small, most necessary needs, and loses thought, preoccupied with its only best thoughts. If, however, needs do not cease to hold him back from the best thoughts, then he reaches a state in which he both suffers and does harm, and from that time on the door to passions opens, the silence of prudence is removed, humility flees and the door of peace is closed. According to all this, the humble-wise one constantly guards himself from many things and then finds himself at all times in silence, at rest, in peace, in meekness, in reverence.

In a humble man there is never fussiness, haste, embarrassment, hot and light thoughts, but at all times he is at peace. If the sky clung to the earth, the humble-minded would not be horrified. Not every silent man is humble-wise, but every humble-wise man is a silent man. He who is not humbly wise is not humiliated, but you will find many who are humiliated and unhumble. This is what the meek and humble Lord said: “Learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:29). The humble wise man is at rest at all times, because there is nothing to set his mind in motion or in horror. Just as no one can frighten a mountain, so his mind is fearless. And, if I may say so (and perhaps it is not inappropriate to say so), the humble “of this world” (John 8:23); because even in sorrow he is not horrified and does not change, and in joy he does not marvel and does not expand. But all his joy and true joy are in his Lord. Humility of mind is followed by meekness and concentration in oneself, i.e. chastity of feelings, proportionality of voice, taciturnity, neglect of oneself, poor clothes, haughty gait, inclination of the eyes down, superiority in mercy, a quick outpouring of tears, a solitary soul, a contrite heart, immobility to irritation, unsquandered feelings, smallness of property, diminishing in every need , enduring everything, patience, fearlessness, hardness of heart, coming from hatred of temporary life, patience in temptations, weighty, and not light thoughts, quenching thoughts, keeping the secrets of chastity, modesty, reverence, and above all this, unceasing silence and always accusing him of ignorance.

A humble man never encounters such a need that would lead him into confusion or confusion. A humble man sometimes, being alone, is ashamed of himself. I marvel that a truly humble man does not even dare to pray to God when he starts to pray, or consider himself worthy of prayer, or ask for something else, and does not know what to pray for, but only keeps silent with all his thoughts, expecting only mercy and of that pleasure which comes to him from the Person of the venerable Majesty, when he bows his face to the earth, and the inner vision of his heart is lifted up to the exalted gates into the Holy of Holies, where is He Whose dwelling is darkness, Who dulls the eyes of the Seraphim, Whose virtue stirs the legions to their standing, Who pours out silence on all their ranks. And he only dares to speak and pray like this: “According to Your will, Lord, be with me!” We will say the same about ourselves. Amen.

Prayer for Unity

Lord, Jesus Christ!

You told us where two or three are gathered in my name,

I am there among them.

You didn't want people to walk alone through life

You brought us together to be one family.

Let us fulfill Your new commandment,

that we may love one another as You have loved us.

Give us patience, indulgence

and power over yourself.

May we be one as You are one with the Father and the Spirit,

according to your prayer and commandment.

To shine our light in this dark world,

and people know your love

in the love of the Father, in the salvation of the Son

and in the communion of the Holy Spirit.

Evening prayer

Lord Jesus Christ!

At this evening hour, in this city,

where your blessing rested,

among all suffering, sins and troubles,

You who suffered and took upon yourself

ulcers of the human race,

because he loved us

You who came here

Lord, you carried the Cross

teach us to bear suffering and labor for the sake of those close to us.

Lord Jesus Christ,

You see our ulcers and our infirmities,

pour strength into us, make us firm, courageous,

Your Divine Gospel.

Lord Jesus Christ,

Give us the days that You let us go

to carry as a banner Your Cross.

Lord Jesus Christ, help us.

Thank you for all the wonderful

what You give us in nature, in the temple,

in the Sacrament, in Your Holy Scripture,

in what people inspired by you have written,

in our loved ones, in our loved ones,

in everything that captivates us, excites, surprises.

We thank you for everything, Lord.

Let us be the true bearers of Your Name.

Prayers for the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

Like your mother

following You in firmness and hope,

composed in her heart

so we will compose these words,

so that in the dark night of life they us

strengthened and gave us strength.

grieving, dejected, sinners,

before which there is also a choice:

or the Lord will be for us to fall,

or for rebellion.

Prayers before confession

Lord, You are our first and last love, You are the One for Whom we live, in Whom we live,

which we aspire to

Forgive us for being believers, but our faith is so small;

we are praying, but our prayer is so weak! How rarely do we meet in true prayer!

And our word, addressed to You, turns into soulless mumbling.

Forgive us, Lord, for standing in front of an icon, opening a prayer book or Holy Scripture, even getting ready to receive the Holy Mysteries, we are distracted, our thoughts wander somewhere sluggish, dull, tired.

How guilty we are before You that we are often present in the temple during a common prayer only with our feet, as it were, while our heart, insensitive and cold, remains somewhere far away.

Forgive us, Lord, that we are neither cold nor hot, that we are half warm, that our faith is often inactive.

We are guilty before You, Lord, for the weakness of our faith, for the lack of faith of the mind, when attacks against faith stuck in our hearts. They are guilty that they testified badly about their faith, did not want to delve into its essence, that they were ashamed and renounced it.

We are to blame for the lack of faith in our hearts when, in difficult circumstances of life, we began to grumble, instead of completely surrendering to You.

Lord, we live as if You

with us only on Sunday, at mass, and the rest of the time we live away from You, on our own.

Forgive us, Lord, for those days when we forget about You at all!

How can I find humility?

Elder Herman Stavrovuniot

He who has humility imitates Christ Himself. Such a person never loses his temper, does not condemn anyone and does not exalt himself. Never craves power, avoids human glory. Doesn't fight for any reason.

He is not bold when he talks, and always listens to other people's advice. Avoids beautiful clothes appearance its simple and modest.

A person who meekly endures all humiliation and humiliation receives great benefit from this. Therefore, do not be sad, but, on the contrary, rejoice in the fact that you are suffering. In doing so, you acquire the precious humility that saves you.

“I humbled myself, and He saved me” (Ps. 115:5). These words should always be kept in mind.

Don't be upset when you are judged. Sadness over such an occasion means that you have vanity. He who wants to be saved must love people's contempt, because contempt brings humility. And humility frees a person from many temptations.

Never be jealous, do not envy, do not strive for fame, do not look for high positions. Try to always live inconspicuously. It is better that the world does not know you, because the world leads to temptation. With his vain speeches and empty incitements, he deceives us and does us spiritual harm.

Your goal should be to acquire humility. Be below everyone. Consider that you are not doing anything worthy of your salvation. You must pray to God to save you according to your mercy.

Humility, obedience and fasting give rise to the fear of God, and the fear of God is the beginning of true wisdom.

Everything you do, do it with humility, so as not to suffer from your own good deeds. Do not think that only those who work hard receive great rewards. He who has a good intention and with it humility, even without being able to do much and without being skillful in anything, will be saved.

Humility is achieved by self-reproach, that is, by the conviction that in essence you are not doing anything good. Woe to him who considers his sins insignificant. He will surely fall into a graver sin.

A person who humbly bears all the condemnation directed at him approaches perfection. Even the Angels admire him, because there is no more difficult and greater virtue than humility.

Poverty, sorrow and contempt are crowns for a monk. When a monk meekly endures rudeness, slander and contempt, he is easily freed from bad thoughts.

Worthy of praise is the realization of one's weakness before God. It is self-knowledge. “I weep and lament,” says St. Simeon the New Theologian, “when the light illuminates me, and I see my poverty and know where I am.” When a person recognizes his spiritual poverty and realizes what level he really is at, then the light of Christ will shine in his soul, and he will begin to cry (telling about this, the elder was moved and wept himself).

If another person calls you an egoist, do not let it sadden or upset you. Just think to yourself: “Perhaps I am like that and I don’t understand it myself.” One way or another, we should not depend on someone else's opinion. Let everyone look into their own conscience and be guided by the words of experienced and knowledgeable friends, and above all, ask for forgiveness from their confessor. And on the basis of all this he builds his spiritual path.

You write that you can't fight. Do you know why this happens? Because you don't have enough humility. You think that you can only achieve this on your own. But when you humble yourself and say: “By the power of Christ, the help of the Mother of God and the prayer of the elder, I will achieve what I want,” be sure that you will succeed.

Of course, I don’t have such prayer power, but when you, having humbled yourself, say: “With the prayer of the elder, I can do anything,” then, in your humility, the grace of God will begin to act, and everything will work out.

God looks to the “humble and contrite” (Isaiah 66:2). But for meekness, calmness and humility to come, labor is necessary. This work is rewarded. To find humility, it seems to me, one does not need numerous bows and obediences, but first of all, your thoughts must go down to the very earth. Then you will not be afraid to fall, because you are already below. And if you fall down, you won't get hurt.

In my opinion, although I certainly do not read much and do nothing outstanding, humility is the shortest path to the salvation of man. Abba Isaiah says: "Teach your tongue to ask for forgiveness, and humility will come to you." Train yourself to say “Forgive me”, even if it is unconscious at first, and gradually you will get used to not only saying these words, but also feeling it in your heart.

The saints teach that how great will be your favor when you ask for forgiveness - in other words, humility - so God will enlighten the other so that the desired truce between you is achieved. When you lament and say, "I am guilty, but I don't realize it," soon you will be able to say, "Yes, I am indeed guilty." And when you convince yourself that you are truly to blame, the other person will also change his attitude towards you.

Persistently ask God to endow you with the gift of self-reproach and humility.

Praying, ask God to give you the ability to see only your sins and not notice the sins of others. “Grant me to see my sins and not condemn my brother,” says St. Ephraim the Syrian.

A humble person considers himself the lowest of all. And therefore he loves everyone, forgives everyone and, most importantly, does not condemn anyone.

PRAYER OF HUMILITY

According to Your will, Lord, be with me!

Learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you will find rest for your souls (Matthew 11:29).

God! open my mouth, and my mouth will proclaim your praise: for you do not desire sacrifice, I would give it; you do not delight in a burnt offering. Sacrifice to God is a contrite spirit; You will not despise a contrite and humble heart, O God.

Adulterers and adulterers! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity against God? So whoever wants to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy to God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain: “The spirit that lives in us jealously loves”? But the greater grace gives; therefore it is said: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:4-6).

PRAYER OF HUMILITY

Question. What are the benefits of humility?

Answer. Just as self-conceit is the dissipation of the soul in its dreaming, which leads it to soar and does not prevent it from soaring in the clouds of its thoughts, so that it whirls all over the creature, so humility gathers the soul into silence, and it concentrates in itself. - if possible, from oneself to plunge into oneself, enter into silence and dwell in it, completely leaving all one's former thoughts and feelings, to become something, as it were, non-existent in the creature, not yet come into being, completely unknown even to the soul itself his.

If, however, needs do not cease to hold him back from the best thoughts, then he reaches a state in which he both suffers and does harm - and from that time on, the door to passions opens, the silence of rationality is removed, humility flees and the door of peace is closed. According to all this, the humble-wise one constantly guards himself from many things and then finds himself at all times in silence, at rest, at peace, in meekness, in reverence.

Humility of mind is followed by meekness and concentration in oneself, i.e. chastity of feelings, proportionality of voice, taciturnity, neglect of oneself, poor clothes, haughty gait, inclination of the eyes to the bottom, superiority in mercy, a quick outpouring of tears, a solitary soul, a contrite heart, immobility to irritation, unsquandered feelings, smallness of property, diminishing in every need enduring everything, patience, fearlessness, firmness of heart, coming from hatred of temporary life, patience in temptations, weighty, and not light thoughts, quenching thoughts, keeping the secrets of chastity, modesty, reverence, and above all this, unceasing silence and always accusing him of ignorance.

A humble man never encounters such a need that would lead him into confusion or confusion. A humble man sometimes, being alone, is ashamed of himself. I marvel that the truly humble man does not even dare to pray to God when he starts to pray, or consider himself worthy of prayer, or ask for something else, and does not know what to pray for, but only keeps silent with all his thoughts, expecting only mercy and of that pleasure which comes to him from the Person of the venerable Majesty, when he bows his face to the earth, and the inner vision of his heart is lifted up to the exalted gates into the Holy of Holies, where is He, Whose village is darkness, Who dulls the eyes of the Seraphim, Whose virtue stirs the legions to their standing, Who pours out silence on all their ranks. And he only dares to speak and pray like this: “According to Your will, Lord, be with me!” We will say the same about ourselves. Amen.

Complete collection and description: a prayer for patience and humility for the spiritual life of a believer.

“If someone offends you,” the elder said to one nun as an edification, “do not tell anyone except the elder, and you will be peaceful. Bow to everyone, regardless of whether they bow to you or not. You need to humble yourself in front of everyone. If we have not committed the crimes that others have committed, then this may be because we did not have the opportunity to do so: the situation and circumstances were different. In every person there is something good and kind, but we usually see only vices in people, but we do not see the good.

Speaking about the fact that one cannot be saved without humility, the elder gave the following example: “One lady saw in a dream the Lord Jesus and before Him a crowd of people. At His call, a peasant girl came up to Him first, and then a peasant in bast shoes, and then all the people of the peasant class. The lady thought that for her simplicity, kindness, and in general for all the virtues, the Lord would call to Himself. Imagine her surprise when she saw that the Lord had already stopped calling. She made up her mind to remind the Lord of herself, but He turned away from her. Then the lady fell to the ground and began to humbly admit that she was really worse than everyone else and unworthy to be in the Kingdom of Heaven. Then the elder added: “But such and such are suitable, such and such are needed there.”

When you are annoyed, never ask why and why. This is nowhere in Scripture. There, on the contrary, it is said: if someone strikes you on the right side of your cheek, turn the other to him as well. In fact, it is inconvenient to hit the gum on the cheek, but you need to understand it this way: if someone slanders you or annoys you innocently with something, this will mean an emphasis on the gum of the cheek. Do not grumble, but endure this blow patiently, substituting your left cheek, that is, remembering your wrong deeds. And if, perhaps, you are now innocent, then you have sinned a lot before, and by this you will be convinced that you are worthy of punishment.

Elisha endured, Moses endured, Elijah endured, so I will endure.

“Father! Teach me patience,” said one sister. “Learn,” the elder replied, “and start with patience with the troubles that are and are encountered.” “I can’t understand how you can not be indignant at insults and injustices.” The answer of the elder: "Be fair yourself and do not offend anyone."

If someone from the brethren, out of cowardice and impatience, grieved over the fact that they had not been introduced to the mantle or to hierodeaconism and hieromonasticism for a long time, the elder used to say this for edification: “This, brother, everything will come in due time. Everyone will give; no one will do good deeds."

Remembrance, envy, hatred and similar passions lie within and are born and grow from the inner root of self-love. No matter how you chop the branches from the outside, as long as this root is damp and fresh and no means are used to cut off the internal branches of this root, through which harmful moisture penetrates and grows external offspring, the labor will be in vain.

The ax to the destruction of the root of self-love is faith, humility, obedience and cutting off one's own desires and understandings.

Once the elder said at a general blessing: “God visits only the humble with His mercy.” After that, after a short pause, he suddenly added: Watch out, oh, as if you don’t know the day, not even an hour (Matthew 25:13). A few minutes later, right there, with a general blessing, the priest was informed of the death of one skete novice (Alexei of Kronstadt).

To the words of one pilgrim who stood near the elder that pride hinders everyone, he replied: “Wrap yourself up in humility, then if the sky clings to the earth, it won’t be scary.”

Remember also what was said in the psalm: All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth. (Ps. 24:10). That is, one should show mercy and all indulgence to one's neighbor. And from themselves to demand all truth - the fulfillment of the commandments of the Lord. Try to imitate that reverend mother who, seeing envy and hatred towards herself and hearing various slanders, said to herself: "I am unworthy of their love." And when you find embarrassment for these reasons, repeat the Psalm word: Peace to many who love your law, and bear no temptation for them. (Ps. 119:165).

Question: “Is it possible to desire perfection in the spiritual life?” The elder’s answer: “Not only can one desire, but one must also strive to improve in humility, that is, in considering oneself in the feeling of the heart as worse and lower than all people and every creature.” Elder Ambrose also spoke as an edification to his disciples about humility: “I came to the rector, Fr. Archimandrite Moses had one visitor, but, not finding him at home, he went to his brother, Fr. Abbot Anthony. In the middle of the conversation, the guest asked Fr. abbot: “Tell me, father, what rule do you follow?” Father Anthony answered: “I had many rules, I lived in the desert and in monasteries, and all the rules were different, and now there is only one publican: “God, be merciful to me a sinner!” At the same time, the father added another story about how she all wanted to wander back and forth - both to Kiev and Zadonsk, and the elder alone said to her: “All this is not good for you, but sit better at home and do the tax collector prayer."

“As soon as a person humbles himself,” the elder used to say, “how humility immediately sets him on the threshold of the Kingdom of Heaven,” which, let’s add to this the apostolic words, is not food and drink, but truth and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom. 14:17).

“The Kingdom of God,” the elder used to say, “is not in words, but in power; you need to interpret less, be more silent, do not condemn anyone, and all my respect.

Prayers for Patience

Praise be to Thee, Father of Mercy and God of all comfort, that Thou never leaves Thy sufferers without visitation and consolation. Punish - you punish them, but you do not put them to death; although you are often their hidden God, you are their Savior. Imprint this consolation, O Lord, in my heart and show it true over me when disaster is near, but there is no helper. Be my light when I sit in darkness; make the knowledge of my sins and what they deserve produce in me true humility and patience. Strengthen, when trouble comes, faith in me, as in Jacob, so that I fight and do not let You go until You bless me. Make sure that I do not run away from You in suffering, O my Shepherd, but that my vigor increases and I become more zealous for Your prayer and praise. Open my mind so that I may understand the Scriptures, learn from it Thy ways, and in true silence of heart, completely and completely surrender to Thee, through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord! Amen.

Father of mercy and God of all comfort! I call on you in the name of Jesus Christ to grant me true Christian patience. Arm me with it against every tribulation, so that I may be patient in it, for it is very precious. Make me ready to take up the cross of Christ upon myself, bear it patiently, and stand firmly under it to the end. Cast away from me every grumbling and every annoyance of the flesh at the weight of the cross and the duration of its time. Appear, O beloved Jesus, with Your patience under the cross and on the cross, appear before my eyes and my heart, so that by contemplating You I may be encouraged and strengthened to constantly endure everything. Do it, O patient Savior, so that I do not become weary in my spirit, but in patience, let me enter through suffering and sorrow into the Kingdom of God. I need to have patience so that, having done the will of God, I can receive the promise. I ask him from You, deign to fulfill my petition!

Satisfy the illnesses of my many-sighing soul, which has quenched every tear from the face of the earth: You drive away people's illnesses and resolve sinful sorrows, for you gain all hope and affirmation, Blessed Mother Virgin! You intercede to all, Good, resorting with faith to Your sovereign cover: otherwise, the imams are not sinners to God in troubles and sorrows for ever deliverance, burden the sins of many, Mother of God the Most High! We fall down the same to Thee: deliver Thy servants from every circumstance! No one who flows to You is put to shame and proceeds from You, most pure Mother of God Virgin: but asks for grace and accepts the gift for a useful petition. Fulfill, Pure, joy my heart, Your imperishable joy, giving birth to Guilty joy! Fill my heart with joy, Devo, who accepts fulfillment of joy, consumes sinful sorrow!

Lord, hear my prayer, give ear to my prayer in Thy truth, hear me in Thy righteousness, and enter not into judgment with Thy servant, for no one living is justified before Thee. As if the enemy chased my soul, humbled my stomach to eat in the ground, planted me to eat in dark, like dead centuries. And my spirit is in me, my heart is troubled in me. I remember the days of old, learn from all your deeds, learn from your hand in creation. Lift up my hands to Thee, my soul, as the earth is waterless to Thee. Hear me soon, O Lord, my spirit is gone; Turn not away Your face from me, and I will be like those who go down into the pit. I hear, do me Thy mercy in the morning, as if on Thee hopes. Tell me, O Lord, I will go the way, for I have taken my soul to Thee. Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord, I have resorted to You. Teach me to do Your will, as You are my God. Your Good Spirit will guide me to the land of right. For Thy name's sake, O Lord, live me, in Thy righteousness bring my soul out of sorrow. And by Thy mercy consume my enemies and destroy all the aching souls of my soul, as I am Thy servant.

Saint Barbara was notable for her special beauty and was locked up by her father in the tower to hide her from prying eyes. During the period of imprisonment, Saint Barbara, studying the world around her, which was visible to her from the windows, came to the idea that there was a single Creator. When her father, for the purpose of her marriage, allowed her to leave the tower, Varvara met the Christians of Iliopol and was baptized. When the father found out about his daughter's religion, Varvara was severely tortured: they scourged her with ox sinews, and rubbed her wounds with a sackcloth. The ruler of the city, Martian, gave the father the right to execute judgment on his daughter, who beheaded Saint Barbara. Dioscurus and Martian suffered retribution, both of them were burned by lightning. Together with Saint Barbara, Saint Juliana was executed, having openly declared herself a Christian during the torture of Saint Barbara. The Holy Great Martyr Barbara is considered the patroness of sudden death, which in Christianity is considered in most cases a punishment, like death without repentance and communion. Further

Prayer of the Disciples of Christ

    BLESSED OUR GOD

    ALWAYS, NOW AND ALWAYS

    AND FOREVER.

Blessed are You, our Father, who created heaven and earth, light and darkness, flowers and stars -

Who created forests and mountains, seas and steppes and everything that lives in them - He created us in Your image and likeness -

Who gave us reason, conscience, the power of creation -

    Revealing His will to us

Who has placed Your law in our hearts,

    Taught us Thy Truth -

Who gave us the Covenant and Promise -

He who chose His children from all the ends of the earth -

Blessed are You, who revealed Himself in Your Son -

    Born of the Virgin -

Who made Himself of no use for our salvation,

The person who incarnated for us -

Having experienced labors and sorrows, hunger and thirst -

Showing us the true path of life -

You have granted us the forgiveness of sins in the mercy of the Father -

You proclaimed to us the joy of the sons of God -

proclaimed New Testament in His blood

Shared with the world of torment and death -

Defeated hell and established His kingdom -

He promised to stay with us until the end of time -

Blessed be Thy righteous Judgment and Thy mercy -

Blessed are you, who appeared by the power of your Spirit -

You strengthen Your Church with the Spirit -

You show Your strength in our weakness -

You receive into Your bosom with holy Baptism -

You join yourself in the Holy Chalice -

Give grace to Your servants -

You heal our infirmities, souls and bodies -

Protecting our home, work and life -

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who revealed to us the Heavenly Father,

    May we be Your disciples.

You promised to give peace to our souls.

But You do not want negligent servants.

Give us the strength to stand guard and stay awake.

May we be faithful to You and only You.

Teach us to do everything in Your presence.

    Make us Your children.

Grant us strength to do Your will and Your covenant.

    Teach us to do good.

Protect us from the leaven of the Pharisees.

Teach us to see the main thing in life, the one thing that is needed.

Help us to get rid of sin, from idleness, from flabbiness of the spirit.

May all the good and beautiful things in the world remind us of You

Let the evil of the world serve as a warning to us.

May we see in sinners the mirror of our sins.

Teach us to see brothers in those who think differently than we do, in those of other faiths and unbelievers.

Let us remember the brevity of life, so that the memory of death

was for us the strength of diligence and service.

Invest in us the ability to forgive, love and give.

Teach us to live in prayer.

Let us now be partakers of Your kingdom.

Teach us to hate sin, not the sinner.

Grant us the strength to bear witness to You.

Don't let us be vain, petty, empty.

May You be our alpha and omega in this life and in eternity.

    May we be your disciples.

    From the memorial day sermon

    Rev. Andrew of Crete

    Prayer for Unity

    Lord, Jesus Christ!

You told us where two or three are gathered in my name,

    I am there among them.

You didn't want people to walk alone through life

You brought us together to be one family.

Let us fulfill Your new commandment,

that we may love one another as You have loved us.

    Give us patience, indulgence

    and power over yourself.

May we be one as You are one with the Father and the Spirit,

according to your prayer and commandment.

To shine our light in this dark world,

    and people know your love

in the love of the Father, in the salvation of the Son

and in the communion of the Holy Spirit.

    Evening prayer

    Lord Jesus Christ!

At this evening hour, in this city,

    where your blessing rested,

among all suffering, sins and troubles,

You who suffered and took upon yourself

    ulcers of the human race,

    because he loved us

    You who came here

    Lord, you carried the Cross

teach us to bear suffering and labor for the sake of those close to us.

    Lord Jesus Christ,

You see our ulcers and our infirmities,

pour strength into us, make us firm, courageous,

    Your Divine Gospel.

    Lord Jesus Christ,

Give us the days that You let us go

to carry as a banner Your Cross.

    Lord Jesus Christ, help us.

Thank you for all the wonderful

what You give us in nature, in the temple,

in the Sacrament, in Your Holy Scripture,

in what people inspired by you have written,

in our loved ones, in our loved ones,

in everything that captivates us, excites, surprises.

We thank you for everything, Lord.

Let us be the true bearers of Your Name.

on the feast of the Presentation of the Lord

    Like your mother

following You in firmness and hope,

    composed in her heart

so we will compose these words,

so that in the dark night of life they us

    strengthened and gave us strength.

    grieving, dejected, sinners,

before which there is also a choice:

or the Lord will be for us to fall,

    or for rebellion.

    For Sundays

I believe, Lord, but you confirm

I hope, Lord, but You strengthen my hope.

I have loved You, Lord, but You cleanse my love and kindle it.

I lament, Lord, but You do

    May I increase my repentance.

I honor you, my Creator, I sigh

about You, I call on You.

You guide me with Your wisdom, protect and strengthen me.

    I give you, my God,

    let them come from you.

Let my works be according to Your will.

Illuminate my mind, strengthen my will,

cleanse the body, sanctify the soul.

May I see my sins, may I not be deceived by pride,

    help me overcome temptation.

May I praise You all the days of my life that You have given me.

Lord, You are our first and last love, You are the One for Whom we live, in Whom we live,

    which we aspire to

    Forgive us for being believers, but our faith is so small;

we are praying, but our prayer is so weak!

God! Forgive us for not thanking You for Your Word that You gave us! That we do not bring it into our heart, into our life!

Lord, forgive us that we neglect Your gift, we read the Holy Scriptures lazily, from time to time, without thinking, without trying to apply these holy words to our lives. How guilty we are before You that we do not delve into Your Word!

God! Forgive us for our negligence! Forgive us for our idleness, spiritual laziness, idle talk, inertia, negligence

    in prayer, for poor preparation

to the sacraments, for all kinds of deceit, dishonesty in their work.

Lord, forgive us for not wanting to enter Your Kingdom, but we stand at the door without taking a single real step towards You.

We are guilty before You, Lord,

for the impurity of our hearts, for crafty, fornication and blasphemous thoughts, for an irreverent attitude

to the shrine, for the impure thoughts towards You that come

to us from the evil one.

Forgive us for the impurity of carnal thoughts, for sins against purity, against chastity, against love, against fidelity, against the family!

Lord, forgive us for suspicion, for crazy, absurd, funny thoughts,

    for intemperance of passions.

We are guilty before you, Lord,

for intemperance not only in word

and in feeling, but also in food and drink. Forgive us for neglecting the fasts.

And may fasting be a school of spirit for us, strengthen and bring us closer to You!

God! You were meek, and we are vicious, irritable, we constantly rebel against people, against loved ones, against dear ones, against the most loved ones!

Forgive us, Lord, for the fact that we have not learned to live with each other peacefully, calmly, respectfully.

Forgive us for our evil temper,

    for the hard character

for hostility, for envy, jealousy, pride, vanity, for the fact that we sometimes cherish insults for years.

Forgive us for not owning ourselves,

for reproaches, for a bad mood, for the fact that we constantly hurt and infringe on each other.

Forgive the heartfelt pleasure we derive from humiliation

and condemnation of other people, from upsetting them, quarreling, finding faults in someone.

Lord, forgive us for our eyes, which first of all see evil,

for our tongue, which is quick to reproach

    and offensive word.

Forgive me for the lies, for the destruction of friendship, love, family, human relationships, for the constant assertion of my will, for

that they offended and humiliated the unrequited people, oppressed the weak.

    God! Forgive us for greed

for greed, for the fact that we give so little in life!

Teach us to follow Your path when You tell us, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Forgive us for the indifference of our heart to someone else's misfortune, for the unwillingness to help, for the unwillingness to support, console, encourage!

Forgive us that we cannot even just tolerate another person, his weaknesses, his unsympathetic, uncomfortable features.

I'm sorry that with a murmur, not

with gratitude we bear the burden

in relation to the sick, children, the elderly, the needy

Forgive me for the fact that, returning from the temple, we bring to our family not silence, joy and light, but grumbling and discontent.

Forgive me, Lord, for the guilt before relatives and friends who share

    our sins are with us.

We are guilty before You, Lord, that we did not save our families, pushed others to separation, divorce, quarrels, were indirect culprits of other people's troubles.

Forgive us, Lord, for the sins against our own children, against the husband, against the wife, against the mother and father, to whom we caused many offenses

Forgive me that You love us, but we don’t know how to love each other, that in fact You are not our King, but our pride, self-will, self-love, ambition, vanity, You are not our King, but the vanity we are running after, which we cling to.

We are chained to ourselves and do not want to leave our prison - neither to You, nor to people; we are ungrateful to Thee for life, for the soul, for the wisdom of Thy Word, for Thy salvation, Thy Church!

Forgive me, Lord, that we strive so little to thank You for calling us!

Forgive us that we do not save the treasures that You have given us, we are ungrateful to You for everything beautiful that is and was in our life, that we do not remember anything, that we are used to it, that we ruthlessly squander everything that You send us: health, time, people.

Forgive us for not feeling blissful, happy!

Forgive us that we are often prone to discontent, grumbling, a gloomy view of the world.

Forgive me that we don’t know how to thank for joy, for friends, for family, for the fact that the legs walk and the eyes see, for the sky, air, beauty, peace.

Forgive us, Lord, for not fulfilling Your main covenant: “By this, everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

We are to blame, Lord, that in relation to people we were as ungrateful as in relation to You, we failed to thank those who brought us life, light and goodness, who gave birth to us, raised us, raised us, who taught us, instructed us, helped!

You gave us the joy of communicating with each other, and we talk about all sorts of trifles and most often vilify and condemn each other!

Forgive us, Lord, for the fact that we live as if You have forgotten about us, as if we are valuable in ourselves, and not only in the light of Your life.

Lord, forgive us that we do not sanctify our lives.

Lord, forgive us for being superstitious.

Forgive us for the fact that we are forever tormented by fears, fears and anxieties. Trembling and fear in us from lack of faith, despondency -

from lack of faith, disgust for the world around - from lack of faith.

Lord, forgive us for the fact that we do not know how to be patient in difficult circumstances, courageous, firm and devoted to You.

Lord, forgive us for our unwillingness to do Your will, for the fact that we do not have humility before You, we do not know how to see You in temptation

and illness, in difficult circumstances of life.

Forgive us, Lord, for the fact that we do not keep Your main commandments.

Forgive us for being irritable, vicious, angry, quick-tempered, suspicious, poisonous, vicious, for the fact that we are always ready to see the shortcomings of others, we easily exalt ourselves, justify, excuse ourselves for everything.

Forgive us for every lie, untruth in life, for every deceit, for deceit, slander, slander, slander, for perjury in court, deceit, duplicity!

Forgive us, Lord, for hypocrisy, when we wanted to show our piety, our piety, or boast of our good deeds so that people would approve of us.

Forgive, Lord, for our intemperate language, for idle talk and chatter, for the fact that we think of people worse than they are, for the fact that we cannot restrain our passions, ranging from simple gluttony to sensuality and pride.

Forgive us for the children whom we did not let into this life, whom we killed, destroyed, shed their blood. The guilt here is great.

Forgive us, Lord, that we are being sucked in and poisoned by the emptiness in our heart, that it is filled with pride, hatred, vindictiveness, malevolence, constant grumbling.

Forgive us for the fact that we are always focused on ourselves, always busy only with our feelings, thoughts, worries and interests.

Forgive us for our homes, in which hostility reigns, mutual insults, humiliation, impatience.

Forgive us for not calling on You in difficulties, in difficult circumstances, at times when we have to choose our fate, for not thanking You, not asking You! Forgive us, Lord, that even here we are negligent.

Lord, You see that we ourselves cannot, do not know how, are not able to change ourselves. Give us Your Spirit so that we can become Christians worthy of You.

Give us strength to receive the love of Your redemption! Perform a miracle: revive the dead, unite the separated, reconcile the warring!

We have sinned against the faith -

    Lord, strengthen our faith.

We have sinned against love - Lord, give us the power of love.

We have sinned against hope - Lord, give us hope.

Lord, transform our faith so that it is not selfish, but full of love and bestowal.

Transform our prayer so that it is a living appeal to God.

Transform our families, our homes, our relationships with people -

    inside and outside the home.

Transform our ministry to the Church.

Lord, transform our heart so that it becomes sympathetic, compassionate.

Transform our mind so that it works clearly, strictly, concentratedly, so that thoughts are directed towards good.

Transform our memory so that we always remember that the days are evil; but we must put everything into this life in order to carry the fire lit here into Eternity.

Lord, transform everything around us, make it so that we can transform the life around us.

Lord, let me turn to You with all my being and say: “Here is my heart, here is my life, my family, my loved ones, my work, everything that I have, I offer You to sanctify them.”

Lord, I have nothing to present to You, but I trust in Your mercy, in Your love. Nothing more.

Give me the strength to take the first weak steps towards You in order to feel that You are here, near, that You are leading us, that You are accepting us, that Your arms are open to us, the arms of the Heavenly Father Who is waiting for each of us.

    Prayers before the Chalice

God! You see that every day of my life I violated Your will.

I'm not just like the prodigal son, I left - I rebelled against You, I turned into

into Your enemy - with all your thoughts, deeds and feelings. Will You forgive me, Lord? Will you allow me to your shrine?! That's what I'm praying for now

All that was forgotten by me, let it be forgiven by You. Everything that was done out of ignorance, out of misunderstanding, a lot of sins that are from childhood and youth

on me like sores - may they be healed and cleansed by You.

Lord Jesus Christ, let me come to the Holy Chalice, unite with the bonds of love, the bonds that the holy Church gives us, today, here

You Yourself, O Lord, said that if two or three were gathered in My name,

I am there among them. To all of us who have gathered, send down Your Spirit. Enlighten us all with Your blessing and make us Your children.

Lord, we stand before You, looking back at our lives. We broke everything, we broke everything. Our baptismal shirt bears all the dirty traces of our life - unworthy, not Christian, pagan. Lord, forgive us! Let us put on clean clothes so that we can share in Your divine meal.

    Lord Jesus Christ! With them

from our hearts, the black seals of sins, put the seal of Your Spirit on us, so that we return to You, so that we again find love for You, so that we again become Your children from worthless slaves.

Lord, do not judge by our deeds, but by Your mercy. Not according to truth and justice, but according to Your grace. Forgive, wash, cleanse, make our former as if it had not been, put into our will a strong desire to live

in a Christian way. Let there be no evil in our language, let there be no darkness in our thoughts, let there be good in our heart!

Lord, You are our first and last, You are our only one, and we are going to You. But how ashamed and afraid we are, because we come in pride and conceit, in despondency and irritation, full of stupid, vain, empty thoughts, petty vanity, petty revenge, petty envy. We come, violating all Your commandments, all Your calls.

"Lord, we are not worthy to have You come under our roof." But still we are waiting for you. We still ask you to come. Still, we know that Your love will overcome our sinfulness, Your blood will wash away our imperfections.

We believe, Lord, that today You are here

with us that you unite us, that you

you purify us and free us. Let us feel the power of the beating of Your loving heart that is open to us. Teach us to open the door of our hearts to let You in as a guest into our home.

Let us touch You, be inspired by You! To leave here as if on wings, to know that You are with us, that You bless us, You love us, You heal us, You save us - with Your blood, Your heart, Your sufferings.

Lord, accept and revive us, give us Your love, which will resurrect us.

Lord, let Your strength be in us.

May You be our real Sovereign and Lord!

    Blessing

Shared prayer for the home group

Shout to the Lord, all the earth!

Serve the Lord with joy; go before His face with an exclamation!

Know that the Lord is God, that

He made us and we are His

His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, into His courts with praise. Praise Him, bless His name,

for the Lord is good: his mercy is forever,

and His truth unto generation and generation.

God! You tested me and you know.

You know when I sit down and when I get up; Do you understand thoughts

Whether I go, whether I rest - You surround me, and all my ways are known to You.

There is still no word in my language - You, Lord, already know it perfectly.

Behind and in front You embrace me

and you lay your hand on me.

Wonderful for me is Your knowledge - high, I can not comprehend it!

Where can I go from Your Spirit, and where can I flee from Your presence?

If I ascend to heaven - You are there; will I get off

to the underworld - and there you are.

Should I take the wings of dawn and move to the edge of the sea, -

And there Your hand will lead me,

and your right hand will hold me.

    Will I say: “Perhaps the darkness will hide me, and the light around me will become night”;

but darkness does not darken from You, and the night is as bright as day: both darkness and light.

How exalted are Your thoughts to me, O God,

and how great is their number!

Will I count them, but they are more numerous than sand; when I wake up, I'm still with You.

    Test me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts;

And see if I'm on a dangerous path

and guide me to the eternal path.

    Ps 138:1-12, 17, 18, 23, 24.

God! You are our refuge in generation and generation.

Before the mountains were born, and You formed the earth and the universe, and from everlasting to everlasting You are God.

You return a person to decay

and you say, "Return, sons of men!"

For a thousand years are before your eyes, like yesterday when it has passed, and like a watch in the night.

    You carry them away like a flood;

    they are like a dream, like grass that grows in the morning, blooms and turns green in the morning, is cut down and dries up in the evening;

You have put our iniquities before You and our secrets before the light of Your face.

All our days have passed in Thy wrath; we are losing our summers like sound.

    The days of our years are seventy years, and with a greater strength - eighty years;

and their best time is labor

and illness, for they pass quickly,

Teach us to count our days so that we may acquire a wise heart.

Satisfy us early with Thy mercy, and we will rejoice and be glad all our days.

Prayer of Moses, the man of God

    Ps 89. 2-6, 8-10, 12, 14.

Behold, the hand of the Lord was not shortened to save, and His ear was not heavy to hear.

But your iniquities have made a division between you and your God, and your sins turn away His face from you, so that they will not hear.

For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your mouth speaks lies, your tongue speaks lies. No one raises their voice for the truth and no one intervenes

    for truth; hope for empty

    and speak lies, conceive evil

    and give birth to villainy;

That is why the court is far from us,

and justice does not reach us; we are waiting for the light, and behold, the darkness - illumination,

    and walk in darkness.

We touch, like the blind a wall, and, as if without eyes, we grope; stumble

at noon, as in twilight, between

    alive as dead.

We have betrayed and lied before the Lord, and have departed from our God; spoke slander and treason, conceived

and gave birth to false words from the heart.

And the court stepped back, and the truth stood afar off, for the truth stumbled in the square, and honesty cannot enter.

And there was no truth, and he who turns away from evil is subjected to insult.

And the Lord saw it, and it's disgusting

It was in His eyes that there is no judgment.

    And he saw that there was no man, and marveled that there was no intercessor;

and his arm helped him, and his righteousness sustained him.

    Isaiah 59:1-4, 9, 10, 13-16.

    Thus says the Lord:

    They seek me every day and want to know my ways, like a people who do what is right and do not forsake the laws of their God;

they ask Me about the judgments of righteousness, they desire to draw near to God:

“Why do we fast and You don’t see? humble our souls,

Behold, on the day of your fast, you do your will and require hard work from others.

Behold, you fast for strife and strife

and in order to strike others with a bold hand; you do not fast at this time so that your voice will be heard

This is the fast I have chosen: loosen the shackles of iniquity, loosen the yoke,

    and set the oppressed free,

    and loose every yoke;

share your bread with the hungry,

and bring the wandering poor into your house; when you see a naked man, clothe him, and do not hide yourself from your kindred.

Then you will call, and the Lord will hear; You will cry out and He will say, “Here I am!”

When you remove the yoke from your midst, you will stop lifting your finger

    and speak offensive

and give your soul to the hungry

    and feed the soul of the sufferer: then your light will rise in the darkness, and your darkness will like noon;

And the Lord will always be your guide, and in time of drought he will satisfy your soul and fatten your bones,

and you will be like a watered garden

and as a fountain whose waters never dry up.

    Isaiah 58:2-4, 6, 7, 9-11.

Oh, that You would open the heavens and come down! the mountains would melt at your presence.

You have graciously met the one who rejoices and does what is right, who remembers You in Your ways. But behold, You are angry, because we have sinned of old; and how shall we be saved?

We all have become - as unclean,

and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; and we all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, carry us away.

And there is no one who calls on Your name, who intends to hold fast to You; therefore You hid Your face from us and left us to perish because of our iniquities.

    But now, Lord, You are our Father;

we are clay, and you are our educator,

and we are all the work of your hand.

Do not be angry, Lord, without measure, and do not remember iniquity forever. Behold, we are all Your people.

They turn off the light. Everyone gets up.

    Each in turn: Maranatha!

    Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness

There was a true Light that enlightens every person who comes into the world.

He was in the world, and the world came into being through Him, and the world did not know Him.

He came to his own, and his own

And to those who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave power

    to be children of God.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in him should not perish,

    but had eternal life.

For God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through him.

He who believes in Him is not judged, but the unbeliever is already condemned, because he did not believe in the name of the Only Begotten Son of God.

The judgment is that light has come into the world; but the people loved the darkness more than the light, because their deeds were evil.

For everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works be reproved, because they are evil; but he who does what is right goes

to the light, that his works may be manifest, for they have been done in God.

You are the light of the world. A city on top of a mountain cannot hide.

And having lighted a candle, they do not put it under a vessel, but on a candlestick, and it gives light to all in the house.

So let your light shine before people, that they may see your good deeds.

and glorify your Father in heaven.

About times and seasons there is no need to write to you, brethren,

For you yourselves know for certain that the day of the Lord will thus come,

    For when they say, "Peace

and safety," then sudden destruction will come upon them, just as childbirth comes upon a woman in her womb,

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that the day will find you like a thief.

For you are all sons of light and sons of the day: we are not sons night, no darkness.

So, let's not sleep, like the others,

but let us be awake and sober.

For the sleepers sleep at night,

and those who get drunk get drunk at night.

But we, being sons of the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith

and love and in the helmet of the hope of salvation.

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.

And I, John, saw the holy city of Jerusalem, new, coming down from God

from heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And the city does not need either the sun or the moon to illuminate it, for the glory of God has illuminated it,

and his lamp is the Lamb.

He who bears witness to this says: Surely, I am coming quickly! Amen.

    How many of us

    madness, stupidity

    and limitations

    but wisdom and love

    Give us some spark

    Your wisdom and love

    sealed in your word.

    From the memorial day sermon

    Rev. Andrew of Crete

    Prayer for Unity

    Lord, Jesus Christ!

You told us where two or three are gathered in my name,

    I am there among them.

You didn't want people to walk alone through life

You brought us together to be one family.

Let us fulfill Your new commandment,

that we may love one another as You have loved us.

    Give us patience, indulgence

    and power over yourself.

May we be one as You are one with the Father and the Spirit,

according to your prayer and commandment.

To shine our light in this dark world,

    coming from you,

    and people know your love

in the love of the Father, in the salvation of the Son

and in the communion of the Holy Spirit.

    Amen.

    Evening prayer

    Lord Jesus Christ!

At this evening hour, in this city,

    where your blessing rested,

among all suffering, sins and troubles,

You who suffered and took upon yourself

    ulcers of the human race,

    because he loved us

    You who came here

    Be with us.

    Lord, you carried the Cross

teach us to bear suffering and labor for the sake of those close to us.

    Lord Jesus Christ,

You see our ulcers and our infirmities,

pour strength into us, make us firm, courageous,

    worthy witnesses

    Your Divine Gospel.

    Lord Jesus Christ,

Give us the days that You let us go

to carry as a banner Your Cross.

    Lord Jesus Christ, help us.

Thank you for all the wonderful

what You give us in nature, in the temple,

in the Sacrament, in Your Holy Scripture,

in what people inspired by you have written,

in our loved ones, in our loved ones,

in everything that captivates us, excites, surprises.

We thank you for everything, Lord.

Let us be the true bearers of Your Name.

    Amen.

Prayers for the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

    Like your mother

following You in firmness and hope,

    composed in her heart

    sacred words,

so we will compose these words,

so that in the dark night of life they us

    strengthened and gave us strength.

    Mother of God

    pray for us

    grieving, dejected, sinners,

before which there is also a choice:

or the Lord will be for us to fall,

    or for rebellion.

    Amen.

Prayer for the Sundays of Great Lent

I believe, Lord, but you confirm

    my faith.

    I give you, my God,

    my thoughts,

    let them come from you.

Let my works be according to Your will.

Illuminate my mind, strengthen my will,

cleanse the body, sanctify the soul.

May I see my sins, may I not be deceived by pride,

    help me overcome temptation.

May I praise You all the days of my life that You have given me.

    Amen.

    Prayers before confession

Lord, You are our first and last love, You are the One for Whom we live, in Whom we live,

    which we aspire to

    Which we breathe!

    Forgive us for being believers, but our faith is so small;

we are praying, but our prayer is so weak!

I'm sorry that with a murmur, not

with gratitude we bear the burden

in relation to the sick, children, the elderly, the needy

    in our help.

Forgive us, Lord, for the sins against our own children, against the husband, against the wife, against the mother and father, to whom we caused many offenses

    and grief.

Lord Jesus Christ, let me come to the Holy Chalice, unite with the bonds of love, the bonds that the holy Church gives us, today, here

    and now.

To leave here as if on wings, to know that You are with us, that You bless us, You love us, You heal us, You save us - with Your blood, Your heart, Your suffering.

Lord, accept and revive us, give us Your love, which will resurrect us.

Lord, let Your strength be in us.

May You be our real Sovereign and Lord!

    blessing of the lamp

Shared prayer for the home group

    BLESS THE LORD.

You know when I sit down and when I get up; Do you understand thoughts

    mine out.

    Will I say: “Perhaps the darkness will hide me, and the light around me will become night”;

but darkness does not darken from You, and the night is as bright as day: both darkness and light.

How exalted are Your thoughts to me, O God,

and how great is their number!

Will I count them, but they are more numerous than sand; when I wake up, I'm still with You.

    Test me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts;

And see if I'm on a dangerous path

and guide me to the eternal path.

    Ps 139:1-12, 17, 18, 23, 24.

    You carry them away like a flood;

    they are like a dream, like grass that grows in the morning, blooms and turns green in the morning, is cut down and dries up in the evening;

You have put our iniquities before You and our secrets before the light of Your face.

All our days have passed in Thy wrath; we are losing our summers like sound.

    The days of our years are seventy years, and with a greater strength - eighty years;

and their best time is labor

and illness, for they pass quickly,

    and we're flying.

No one raises their voice for the truth and no one intervenes

    for truth; hope for empty

    and speak lies, conceive evil

    and give birth to villainy;

That is why judgment is far from us,

and justice does not reach us; we are waiting for the light, and behold, the darkness - illumination,

    and walk in darkness.

    And he saw that there was no man, and marveled that there was no intercessor;

and his arm helped him, and his righteousness sustained him.

    Isaiah 59:1-4, 9, 10, 13-16.

    Thus says the Lord:

    They seek me every day and want to know my ways, like a people who do what is right and do not forsake the laws of their God;

they ask Me about the judgments of righteousness, they desire to draw near to God:

“Why do we fast and You don’t see? humble our souls,

    do not you know?"

Behold, on the day of your fast, you do your will and require hard work from others.

Behold, you fast for strife and strife

and in order to strike others with a bold hand; you do not fast at this time so that your voice will be heard

    on high.

This is the fast I have chosen: loosen the shackles of iniquity, loosen the yoke,

    and set the oppressed free,

    and loose every yoke;

share your bread with the hungry,

and bring the wandering poor into your house; when you see a naked man, clothe him, and do not hide yourself from your kindred.

Then you will call, and the Lord will hear; You will cry out and He will say, “Here I am!”

When you remove the yoke from your midst, you will stop lifting your finger

    and speak offensive

and give your soul to the hungry

    and feed the soul of the sufferer: then your light will rise in the darkness, and your darkness will like noon;

    But now, Lord, You are our Father;

we are clay, and you are our educator,

and we are all the work of your hand.

Do not be angry, Lord, without measure, and do not remember iniquity forever. Behold, we are all Your people.

    Isaiah 64:1:5-9.

They turn off the light. Everyone gets up.

    Pause

    Each in turn: Maranatha!

    Light a lamp.

    Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness

    did not hug him.

There was a true Light that enlightens every person who comes into the world.

He was in the world, and the world came into being through Him, and the world did not know Him.

He came to his own, and his own

    did not accept.

And to those who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave power

    to be children of God.

    John 1.5, 9-12.

    Jesus said:

You are the light of the world. A city on top of a mountain cannot hide.

And having lighted a candle, they do not put it under a vessel, but on a candlestick, and it gives light to all in the house.

So let your light shine before people, that they may see your good deeds.

and glorify your Father in heaven.

About times and seasons there is no need to write to you, brethren,

For you yourselves know for certain that the day of the Lord will thus come,

    like a thief at night.

    For when they say, "Peace

and safety," then sudden destruction will come upon them, just as childbirth comes upon a woman in her womb,

    and will not escape.

    Always rejoice.

    Pray without ceasing.

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

    I Thessalonians 5:1-8, 16-18.

    Rev 21. 1, 2, 23.

He who bears witness to this says: Surely, I am coming quickly! Amen.

    Hey, come, Lord Jesus!

    Amen.
